West 6th Street stemmed as an alternative to East 6th Street. The district runs along 6th Street from Congress to almost North Lamar. There are many upscale bars and clubs for the post-college crowd.  You will also find many restaurant options from upscale to hole-in-the-wall dining. 

Tip: Most of the bars and clubs are from San Antonio Street till West Avenue.
