A 45 minute drive outside of Austin lies Jacob’s Well in nearby Wimberly, Texas. Be sure to bring some good walking shoes as it is a little walk from the parking lot to where the well is located. What you will find is a perennial karstic spring that is serves as a popular swimming spot. The cave measures 30 feet and continues downward at an angle through a series of silted chambers separated by narrow restrictions, finally reaching a depth of 120 feet. Many divers like to explore the caves below even though it has proven to be dangerous.
