Boomerang's Pies

While living in Sydney, Australia, Jack Fennell made a life- changing discovery – Aussie meat pies. A quintessential part of Australian cuisine, these handheld, flaky pastries are filled with delicious meats and vegetables. After seeing the overwhelming positive response to these pies from visiting friends and family, he decided to bring a taste of Australia to Austin.

The original storefront on Australia Day 2006, where Boomerang’s offers gourmet veggie and meat pies in more than 10 flavors, including chicken, steak, pizza and vegetarian options. Their recipes are chef created and inspired by the tastes of the world.  Boomerang’s pies provide a gourmet alternative to fast food with the same convenience.

The original storefront has since closed.  However, Boomerang's lives on as Sheila the Pie Wagon and in the UT Stadium.  Did we mention you can even get these pies in your local grocery stores as well? HEB, Whole Foods, Randalls and more carry the pies in the frozen food section.

Sheila the Pie Wagon travels around town.  You can check out her schedule on her specific Facebook. She often frequents the 290 Food Court.
