The East Side optimizes “Keep Austin Weird.” This area runs parallel to downtown east of IH-35 stretching from East Cesar Chavez to E 7^th Street.  The East Side has undergone a lot of gentrification over the past few years filling the area with local art, music and eclectic food and drink options.  You’ll find a young, hip crowd in this area that is rich in history and culture.

Tip: Most bars and restaurants are located on East 6th Street and East 7th Street.
